Despite these dramatic twists in the story, V returned to ABC this season with relative ratings putting it right in the range of shows that were more likely to be canceled than renewed. Perhaps this was the general feel that led the executives of V to put producer Scott Rosenbaum at full helm for Season 2.

Rosenbaum replaced Scott Peters, the original re-maker of the ‘80s alien invasion TV series, whose output was considered mediocre, with thin characters and uncertain scriptwriting. Rosenbaum was already brought in last season but he seemed to struggle to bring Peters’ two-dimensional characters look more interesting.
