After a week without Modern Family (what kind of world is this?), We finally have our ABC comedy back Wednesday with a new episode one, 8 of Season 2, Flash, Dash, Crash. " Check out the promotional trailer.

Last week's episode of Modern Family was the most watched program, after soccer, of the week.

In the episode, Claire comes down with a cold and after getting all appointments canceled Phil is able to stay home and care for her. Haley comes home from school later, the sick, and end up staying in bed with his mother. Claire takes this as a chance to say how Haley is still too young to settle for a man - of course, all these codes through the characters of the soap opera they were watching. While Claire thinks he is doing through his daughter, Hailey is concerned because he thinks Claire was talking about her marriage to Phil. Meanwhile, Phil becomes obsessed with a smoke detector that does not stop singing. It has been worried about the job and found that setting the smoke detector would be the only thing he could do well. Claire assures her that everything will be fine and that he should talk about the bad things that happens, not only good and happy things, because they are a team.

Meanwhile, the cam will be back to Mitchell to take Lily to a commercial release. Gloria Mitchell learns when he congratulated him and continues after the cam and Lily. Mitchell raised his objections again, but Cam tries to point out that he is the father of Lily and also has the right to make decisions as much as Mitchell does. But he soon realizes that the commercial is quite racist and stereotypes of Asians and Lily out of business.

Episode synopsis:

Everyone gathers at a restaurant for birthday Manny when Manny has a mini crisis in the life of aging, Phil and Claire have a race to see who can get there faster, and Mitchell and Cam get stuck in the mall in search of a gift.

I read that the show producer Steve Levitan inspired the main plot of this episode - he and his wife always argue about the fastest way home when they are in a restaurant:

My wife and I have an ongoing discussion on when we are in a restaurant, which is to take home - which is the fastest way home.

That, of course, begs the question - why are so fast to get home? Possible answers include irritable bowel syndrome, they need to return to relieve the babysitter and dating that are willing to go home and "close the deal."

Back to the Modern Family - I'm looking forward to seeing Manny worry about getting another year. There is something about this adorable son and how much more mature than anyone around, even adults!

I love when the whole family gathers for a big event, so this episode of Modern Family is definitely one to look forward too! The show takes a break next week, so this episode - Dash, Flash, air accident on November 17, 2010.


Gloria and Manny visits Jay at work that Manny gets into an accident when an employee of Jay allowed to drive the forklift. When they get home, Manny insists he is well and asked Jay to give workers back their jobs. Jay refuses so Manny decides to help out Jay and Gloria what occasion is the celebration of that day - apparently Gloria celebrated every small chance. Jay then tells him to go out on his own and that the reason that no worker will return to his job is because his son was injured. Manny is played and tells Jay that he and Gloria are celebrating their first kiss and where to meet.

In the next inning, Manny birthday and is beginning to worry about getting older. Meanwhile, Claire and Phil end up in a car race and Mitch and Cam meet new people in the mall when they are out to find a gift.
