Just 24 days' til Fright Night, and help you prepare for this Upstate will be bringing you some of the features deliciously terrible every week of this month, because it is never too early to get excited about All Hallows Eve. This week we offer up more suggestions for costumes, so check out the TV and DVD, some Halloween trivia and more.
WHAT TO BRING
They have not figured out what to wear for Halloween yet? That's fine, you still have time. From classic suits with what is trend right now, here are some suggestions to help you find the perfect outfit for trick or treating.
No Johnny Depp seems to inspire a lot of fun Halloween costumes. A few years ago, Captain Jack Sparrow was one of the hottest trends for children and adults alike. And before her beloved character of Edward Scissorhands was an annual favorite. This year, Mad Hatter in Tim Burton Depp version of "Alice in Wonderland" is fashionable.
No Halloween get-ups are inspired by the biggest films of the past, and Na'vi of James Cameron's "Avatar" are some of the best costumes trend at the moment. You can find full Na'Vi costumes in stores or search online tutorials to create your own "authentic" Na'Vi closet. It used to be that if a girl wanted to go in blue body paint for Halloween Smurfette was the only option or mystical X-Men. But Neytiri of "Avatar" has changed all that, and do not hear any of us guys complainin.
n The classic look of vampires tried and true is still one of the most popular Halloween costumes and easily surpasses the "Twilight" vampire aspect. The long coat and Victorian style clothing (not to mention the plastic fangs Groovy) can be found at any costume shop and always held out.

Thursday
n 20:00, Disney - Teenage Witch Marnie protects a mysterious power called The Gift of the group that evil The domain of the family "Return to Halloweentown," a magical movie for kids who can not get enough witches and magical creatures.
Friday
6:30 pm, Comedy Central - A Halloween-themed episode of "Scrubs" is JD's brother (Tom Cavanaugh) to shake things up when it falls on a visit. Meanwhile, 'mono' a mystery hangs around the hospital. And check out the creative costumes Turk and JD's Halloween in this funny episode creepy.
8 pm, AMC - Sigourney Weaver combat a spate of "Aliens" (1986) in this sequel to the 1979 original. The Oscar winner for Best Visual Effects!
Saturday
8 pm, AMC - Beware of "Cujo" (1983), in the Stephen King best-seller of a rabid dog terrorizing a mother (Dee Wallace) and son (Danny Pintauro) trapped in a hot car.
20:00, The Travel Channel - Explore some of the nations best haunted houses in "America Haunts 2," one of the many special Halloween items aired on the Travel Channel throughout the month.
Sunday
4:30 to 23:00, A & E - Tune in for a mini-marathon of "Paranormal State" episodes.
21:00, Hallmark Channel - now about creepy! "Trick or treat with Martha Stewart" is enough to scare almost any kind. But if you want to be a better host of Haunting, do not miss this show on how to make Halloween-themed foods like shrimp cocktail "of the brain with blood, Halloween costumes and decorations like a mirror mummy.
Monday
6:30 pm, Cartoon Network - A gift macabre fun for kids and young at heart, "A Scooby Doo Halloween" is the band is working on a mystery in a Halloween dance. KISS rock band joins in the fun.
19:00, SyFy - The merry pranksters are back with "Scare Tactics: Pipe of the Dead" which should inspire some fun Halloween pranks from your account.
Tuesday
4 to 7 pm, the Travel Channel - A mini-marathon of "Haunts America" takes viewers across the U.S. some of the best Halloween attractions in the country, offering a look behind racks of some of the spooky haunted house you "ll ever see.
8 pm, Disney - A child with a ghostly equipment Teenage Witch to thwart the evil plans of an evil sorcerer "Casper Meets Wendy" (1999), starring Hilary Duff, Terri Garr and fire from George Hamilton.
Wednesday
8 pm, Disney - The kids will enjoy "The Little Vampire" (2000), about a 9 year old (Jonathan Lipnicki) who befriends a young vampire.
23:00, TVLAND - Fans of "Roseanne" to enjoy this classic Halloween theme episode titled "Halloween: The Final Chapter", which is Roseanne consult a Ouija board, which leads to some fun events.
DVD / STREAMING
In the mood for some thrills and chills on DVD? Then check these out! Here's a suggestion worth weeks of terrible movies to get you excited during the 31 days of Halloween. Everything in this column is also available for instant viewing if you are a Netflix subscriber (and really, it is not nowadays?).
This week you should really revisit Camp Crystal Lake with everyone's favorite psycho hockey mask of Jason Voorhees Dress.
"Friday 13" (1980) - Twenty years after shutting down several mysterious deaths, Camp Crystal Lake reopens, but the place clearly has not shaken his "death curse" as a deranged murderer terrorizes the teen counselors in this original version of the classic slasher film.
"Friday the 13th Part 2" (1981) - Five years after the horrific slaughter at Camp Crystal Lake, close to a new camp on the infamous site opens, and follow a group of counselors sexual positions. When counselors know that the only survivor of the previous slaughter was killed shortly after, they worry that the son of Mrs. Voorhees, Jason, could be out to avenge the death of his mother.
"Friday the 13th Part 3" (1983) - Jason is back, and this air that makes his infamous hockey mask. This time, terrorizes a group of friends whose idyllic summer in the forest is about to take a trick. Originally shot in 3-D!
"Friday the 13th Part 4: The Final Chapter" (1984) - Well, the title is a bit misleading, as it certainly was not the "final" chapter of this series of long duration. Like the randy teenagers are killed one by one, Tommy Jarvis (a young Corey Feldman) is preparing a plan to distract the murderer. master of makeup and worship to the stars Tom Savini provides much of wince-inducing gore.
"Friday the 13th Part 5: A New Beginning" (1985) - After having landed in a psychiatric hospital after "killing" Jason in The Final Chapter, "an old Tommy (now played by John Shepard) is released to a halfway house populated by the usual maladjusted teens. Then, surprise, the grisly murders begin again. Has the homicidal hockey goalie came back from the dead, or channeling Tommy Jason himself?
"Friday the 13th Part 6: Jason Lives" (1986) - By now Tommy has escaped death many times as Jason. Then, return to Tommy to answer the question: Is Jason really dead? When Tommy and a friend visit the cemetery to dig the grave of the murderer, who found a well rested Jason ready to spill blood again. Rocker Alice Cooper sings the title song, "is back (The Man Behind the Mask)."
"Deepstar Six" (1989) - "Friday 13" creator Sean S. Cunningham brings us this claustrophobic thriller a hard mission to establish a top secret nuclear base by the Navy at the bottom of the ocean. But as the brave team works to complete its task almost impossible, not wanting to disturb a terrible alien life form that could kill them at any time.
Halloween fun fact: Lantern Jack o 'originated in Ireland where people placed candles in hollowed-out turnips to keep away spirits and ghosts at the feast of Samhain.
Fun fact No. 2: Halloween is the second most successful holiday shopping, with Christmas being the first.
